Wine supplier Liberty Wines is urging restaurateurs and hoteliers to be on the look out for stolen wine after 636 cases were taken from a delivery trailer.
The Italian wine, worth around £40k, was stolen from a trailer parked near to the Octavian bonded warehouse in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire on Monday night.
Liberty, a supplier of wines to Gordon Ramsay's and Tom Aikens' restaurants, among others, said the cache includes 50 cases of Isole E Olena Cepparello 2004 and 79 cases of Livio Felluga Terre Alte 2006.
Thieves have recently been targeting large quantities of wine. Earlier this month, wine-spirit.com appealed to restaurants and bars in North Yorkshire to help police locate a stash of fine wine after £60k worth was stolen from a country house near Northallerton.
Liberty has appealed to the trade to contact the company if any of their stolen wines (listed below) are offered for sale by anyone outside of the usual Liberty team.Call Liberty Wines on 0207 720 5350.
