UK-based developer The Skelwith Group is to build a £100m (126.4m euro, US$196.5m) luxury hotel and spa in the north of England.
Located between Harrogate and York, the Flaxby Country club has already been granted planning permission, with work expected to begin later this year and be completed by 2011.
The design team is currently being finalised and a specialist architect will be appointed to work up plans for the spa area, which is expected to cover up to 5,000sq ft (464sq m).
An operator is currently being sought for the spa, which will feature two swimming pools and is a key element of the resort.
Other amenities at Flaxby Country club will include a 300-bedroom hotel, three restaurants, four helipads, bars, boutiques and a 27-hole golf course. Details: theflaxby.com
